Contemporary portrait – Crystal
Crystal used her 25th wedding anniversary as a reason to indulge in a contemporary portrait session. She is an amazing woman with a unique sense of humor and we had a great time. I had several klutz moments, but we all survived, and there are some really wonderful images to show for it!
Mother-Daughter portraits
If there is one word to describe Ja Nelle, it would be FUN! She and her daughter Aria brought so much fun and energy to their portraits! There was dancing and singing between shots and just this amazing, wonderful vibe. And it all has led to these amazing images. Hair by Carla Jones, co-owner of Rose & Taylor Salon, and makeup by Antonia Jackson. Happy Mother’s Day Ja Nelle!
Family photos – keeping it real!
I had the pleasure of spending Thursday afternoon with this lovely, lively family! Any time you deal with more than one small child at a time, things get a little crazy, schedules get adjusted, and plans go a little awry! I did not create a perfect portrait of a perfectly posed family. That would not have been real. I do feel that I created several precious portraits of a wonderful family being who they are at this point in their lives. Happy Mothers Day Mary-anne!

The New and Improved Fisher High School Spring Sports Poster
What makes the sports poster “new and improved”? The inclusion of Senior Softball player Hannah Spaulding, who was inadvertantly omitted from the original poster. These posters will be available at the High School Office next week. My sincere apologies to Hannah, and I hope she likes the new poster!
Portraits of Women – Brooke
I am having so much fun photographing these women, and Brooke was no exception. She was constantly cracking jokes during her sitting and making all of us laugh until our sides hurt. Brook has amazing eyes, and I love the combination of her blonde hair and brown eyes…
Fashion Photography – Leah and her Lashes
Leah is part three in my creative fashion photography series. She is an awesome model and great fun to work with! Hair and Makeup by Stefani Smith, video by Carli Wilson( video coming soon) and creative direction, photography and Dove Bars provided by yours truly, Laura Trovillion Photography. Be sure to let us know what you think!
Mahomet baby pictures – Mimi is 1!
It doesn’t seem like a year ago that we were photographing Mimi as a newborn, but it has indeed. Now she is no longer baby, she is moving into the great realm of toddler and all of the joys and gray hair that come with it! Happy Birthday baby girl!!!
Fisher Basketball at SuperSectionals – Go Bunnies
Tonight the 2012 Fisher Basketball team will play in the Supersectional in Bloomington IL. I have had the pleasure of photographing most of these boys for their senior portraits, as well as the sports action basketball photography for Fisher High School and I am thrilled for them and everything they have accomplished in this season! Best of Luck to Boyd, Carson, Dylan, Parker and Taw!
We have Video – Bedazzled
Once again Carly has created an awesome video of our Bedazzled session!
Take a look!
2012 Fisher Senior – Megan
Megan is my first senior girl of 2012. When we set the date for the sitting, I was hopeful we would luck into some more incredible weather, but no luck. Cold, wind and rain/sleet forced us to stay in the studio to create magic. Hair and makeup artist Sarah Kellems created great looks for each outfit, ranging from fun and flirty to Audrey Hepburn elegance. I was my usual insane, “oh my god, we’ve gotta try this” self, and Parkland intern Carly Wilson was tasked with lights and props. Thru it all Megan was AWESOME. She totally rolled with all of my crazy ideas and contortions. I feel like we captured the heart of who she is with her senior photos. See for your self!

2012 Fisher Senior – Kristian
Senior shoot in January….OUTDOORS! We so totally lucked out with the weather yesterday! Kristian brought lots of great prop stuff, clothes and a totally awesome attitude! We walked around downtown Fisher, kicked back on a “beach”, and rocked some very cool photos in the studio!! But don’t just take my word for it, take a look below and tell me what you think!

2012 Fisher Senior – Mike and his dog
Mike was another senior that got a really cold, windy day for his senior portrait shoot. He was game though and toughed it out even though I think his teeth were chattering! Luckily the second half of his shoot was in the studio with his puppy, Mia. Mike wasn’t mr. smiley, but I like the images we got and I hope he does too.
2012 Mahomet Senior Pictures – Maggie
Maggie’s senior portrait sitting is hands down the most unique shoot I have done yet. Her portraits are a combination senior portrait and senior photostory. If you cannot guess from the images, Maggie likes to bake….alot! She wanted something that would speak to her passion, so after a few formals in the studio, we went to her kitchen! She proceeded to demonstrate her awesome culinary skills and her “signature” recipe for blueberry muffins! I can tell you for a fact that they were very, very good!
Studio will be closed.
The studio will be closed Friday November 4- 6. We will reopen on Monday November 7 full of new and creative ideas! Have a great weekend!
2012 Gibson City Senior pictures – Jordan
Jordan is from Gibson City and his senior portrait sitting was just about what you would expect from someone who eats, sleeps and breathes soccer. The first half of the photoshoot were shots for mom. These we took in funky places and alleys in downtown Champaign. The second half of the shoot was the “fun” half and taken on the soccer fields at Parkland College. It didn’t really matter which half it was, cause Jordan totally rocked the shoot! Special thanks to Storm for helping with the lights and being the defender for the soccer shots.
family photos – Jason and his puppies!
Those of us with pets know that they become part of the family. They seem like one more kid. Photoshoots with pets is just like having kids as well. We had a perfect morning, a gorgeous location and two completely unwilling dogs. But we did end up with some pretty nice photos!
A photostory – Mary and Danny
28 years ago a single mom of three met her neighbor’s brother, and the rest as they say is history! During our photoshoot, Mary and Danny told me many stories about their lives together. Stories about how they met and stories about the kids, and grandkids. I knew this would be no ordinary photoshoot. This isn’t about posing and lighting, its the story of their love for each other and the family they raised. Its a beautiful story, and I can only hope my images do it justice.
Fisher Sport photos – Congrats Fisher Football
Congrats to the Fisher Football Team and especially the seniors for making it to playoffs!
2012 Fisher Senior Pictures – Dakota
Senior photos in the fall are so, so much fun! You have fallen leaves, temps that don’t make you break out in a sweat if you think too hard, the beautiful colors of the turning leaves, and some really, really sweet light. Dakota was very insistent about being outdoors in the woods, but also admitted being addicted to bling and other things that sparkle. Hmmm! I provided the woods in and around Fisher, and she brought the bling and a total willingness to try anything. We had such a blast and got such wonderful, wonderful images!!!!
2012 Mahomet Senior pictures – Ana
Beautiful girl+ beautiful weather + beautiful locations = More Awesome Senior Pictures by Laura Trovillion Photography

2012 Fisher Senior – Justin
Justin is another of my three season athletes that is next to impossible to find time in their schedule! Fortunately we carved out a few hours and had not only wonderful weather, but a gorgeous sunset to play with. He isn’t a smiley kinda guy, but he does serious well and when he does smile, its great! We mostly hung out in the alleys and empty lots of downtown Fisher, where there is ambience galore if you know where to look! He was a great sport, humoring the crazy lady with the camera and we got some great stuff as a result!
2012 Fisher Senior – Logan
Logan’s senior portrait sitting was such a trip! We planned very carefully to accomodate as many of her ideas and concepts as possible into a single shoot. We chose Lake of the Woods Botanical Gardens as our starting point because of the many different venues in one place and ease of access when hauling props! ( like a chaise lounge) As you can tell, we got several different looks from that wonderful location! She was also insistent upon a piano shot, and not a normal sitting on the bench playing the piano, but something dramatic and unusual. I think we managed it! And last, but not least, in keeping with my two recurring themes this year ( fire and water) we ended up in her backyard after dark, shooting the rain shot. Love it when it all comes together and totally ROCKS!!!
Fall Studio Hours
Our fall studio hours are Monday – Thursday: whenever you can catch me in, which will be mostly mornings and early afternoons before 3. Friday - by appointment only. If you need to reach me, call 217-239-1658.
2012 Fisher Senior – Zach
One of Zach’s passions in life is fishing, so it came as no surprise that he wanted some shots on the water in a boat. We were fortunate to have a spectacular sunset as a backdrop for the last few images of the night. We hit lots of fun places all around Fisher, including a friend’s barn, a deserted corn crib, woods and a field with the tallest corn he had ever seen! We were so lucky to be able to get his shoot in before football season and school start! I feel like we got lots of different images and looks for him! I cannot wait for him and his parents to see all of the other images waiting for them! Here are a few of my favorites!
2012 Fisher Senior – Carson
Last night’s 2012 senior portrait was Carson. Carson came to the shoot with several really good ideas and a willingness to give any of my crazy ones a try. Carson is a three season, multisport athlete, but he is also a bit of a ham and chose to portray his athletic life in a less than serious, but accurate way. I think anyone who has school and sports is constantly trying to juggle everything! Then we got to shooting his football shots and he got down to business and intense, just look at those eyes! After the sports, we were off to the lake where we shot lots of images in and around. This one with the sky reflected in the water is probably one of my favs from the shoot. I love reflections especially when you get to do something really cool with them. Last but not least, we went to a favorite spot with a campfire. The sunset last night was amazing and was a perfect background!
Hanna at 6!
Do you remember what you were into at age 6? Granted it was a while ago, but I sure don’t. Well, Hanna’s mom is making sure that she never forgets all of the fun things that are so important to her at age 6! Hanna’s portraits reflect her girlie girl outlook, her serious side, her artistic flair and her love of swimming. Pretty cool for only being 6! I wonder what 7 will bring?
Fisher Kids Ava – 6 months!
Ava’s 6 month portraits were such a hoot! Her mom chose to have me shoot at their house as opposed to the studio, that way big sisters could go do their own thing while littlest sister was being photographed! But, in the way of big sisters, they chose to stay close and “help!” Fortunately, Ava thinks her big sisters are the best and very, very funny too!
Essence of Summer
Sometimes when I shoot my goal is to trigger a happy memory. Something that makes you smile just remembering. This essence of summer shoot was just that kind of shoot. Its July in the midwest: its hot, its sunny and its sticky. What do kids do in the summertime? They play in the water, get a little rowdy and eat popsicles. I love this shoot, because it is timeless and it makes me smile. I have memories of summer days just like this, and I know my kids do as well. Someday, hopefully, their kids will also discover the joy of running thru the sprinkler and eating messy popsicles. Its what summertime is all about. I hope I have evoked similiar memories for you with this fun little shoot. Hopefully I made you smile!
Exuberant Senior Pictures – Josie
x·u·ber·ant 1. Filled with or characterized by a lively energy and excitement. This definition should have Josie’s picture right next to it!!! Josie is one of those people just make you want to smile, grin actually. She is very sure of what she wants and what she likes, and she sparkles! ( Not the glitter kind of sparkle, the personality kind) We started at my secret grafitti walls on the U of I campus, and then we moved on to Meadowbrook Park in southeast Urbana for its beautiful trees and prarie vistas. While there we found this awesome shelter made out of branches with a very very cool garden bench beneath it! Finally Josie got to cool off in this beautiful little private pond where she dove and splashed and generally cooled off in grand style.
2012 Senior – Cameron
I had another awesome and unique Senior Portrait sitting last night! This senior with the wonderful smile is Cameron, and he is a study in contrasts. He gets bonus points for preparedness, and bigger points for being so laid back about it! He was equally at home on the soccer field or in the woods. Equally comfortable in flannel shirt and jeans or a suit….Tied his own tie with a full windsor knot, no less! I always think of him as being very outgoing and social, but his favorite place is in the woods, well away from anyone. That he had such a cool favorite spot where he wanted to be photographed just really made my day! Playing in and around the woods was wonderful, right up until the point that I started thinking about ticks being in the woods, and I got the “itchyheebeegeebees!” So here are a few sneak peek photos from Cameron’s senior shoot….Leave a comment and let me know what you think!!!
Kid pictures – So very sweet!
I just love shooting these darling little girls! We went to Lake of the Woods Botanical Gardens so we would have lots of room to run with super girl capes, chase bubbles, watch fish and have a little picnic. I wish I had half the energy of the two older girls and Ava is such a little doll! The love between these siblings is so obvious and so real…..I am constantly in awe. Take a look for yourself and let me know what you think!
Maddie – Just because!
Maddie’s “just because” shoot is a beautiful example of the joys and sorrows of being 13. 13 is rough to say the least, but I think 13 year old girls have it much rougher than boys. Still treated like a kid, wanting to be older, dealing with braces, its all just a jumble of stuff. I think Miss Maddie has a pretty good handle on things; kid enough to swing and laugh at my contortions while trying to get the shot, and beautiful enough to be confident in front of the camera and a smile that is just amazing, braces and all! I hope someday she can look back at these beautiful photos and thank her mom for thinking to capture this time in her life.
New Product – Picture Folio
I am so excited… I love getting new products in, especially when they are just so darn fun! This is a sample of our new picture folio in the 5×7 size. This size folio features either 4 or 6 images and is completely custom-designed. The 8×10 folio (not pictured) features either 6 or 8 images and is also completely custom-designed. These are so not-your-momma’s-senior-picture-folios! Trust me, I am old enough to remember the faux leather slip-in folios of the 1980′s. These are ssoooosoooooo much better/prettier/cooler!
Featured on this folio is Josie, you may remember her from a few posts ago. She is one of my beautiful seniors on my studio crew and her story session was her passion for chocolate; Chocolate is a girl’s best friend. Josie is girl after my own heart and we had such a blast with chocolate kisses, chocolate brownies, chocolate covered strawberries( her favorite) and these awesome individual cakes from The Cake Artist’s Studio. While I love the cover shot of her with kisses raining down upon her, my absolute, hands-down favorite is the back cover, because I can completely relate – kicked back, feet up and a pan of brownies. Who wouldn’t love that!

Portraits of Children – Pretty in Pink!
Children’s portraits are always a big unknown. The children that were shy and quiet one day are outgoing and won’t sit still the next! These two little darlings were full of energy and oh so pretty in their little pink dresses! The upside is that being a kid myself, I usually manage to capture one or two special moments like these!
Baby pictures with attitude!
As proof that all baby pictures are not created equal, I present you with Jose and his attitude! Once fed and burped and changed and rocked and sang to, he was finally convinced to sleep for a little bit and we were able to capture these darling baby pictures!
ltpkids – newborn portrait
Our newborn portrait this week is Amelia Bel. She had definate ideas about how she would pose and what poses she liked and didn’t like, and when she was done. She did graciously allow mom and dad to share in her portrait experience!
ltpkids portraits – Aubrie and baby Ava
Aubrie is one of those wonderful little girls who looks equally adorable showing her dance moves, hugging her baby sister or taking a moment. We have had lots of fun with her and her older sister, and now we also have her new baby sister Ava!
Jordan
This is Jordan ( and his mom). Jordan is the Fisher High School Swim Team.
Yes, you read that right, Fisher has a swim team of ONE. ( And Fisher doesn’t even have a pool!)
It gets better….Jordan is a Sophmore at Fisher High School and went to SECTIONALS just a week ago! Pretty awesome!
Congratulations for your accomplishments Jordan!
Picture yourself here!
Just a happy thought to send you into your weekend! Go home, kick off your boots and long underwear, kick up the heat and find yourself a margarita and some Jimmy Buffett on the stereo ( or computer at Pandora.com- add artist Jimmy Buffett). Spring is not too far off….It’s 65 in Key West today, next week we hit the 40′s and who knows where we will go from there! Have a great weekend and think warm thoughts!
Leiloni Stars

Thank you everyone. We appreciate your business but even more than that we appreciate the opportunity to capture special moments with the special people in your life.
Zooks
These mom and son photos combine a favorite season and the celebration of Gilvie having his braces off! He has a great smile! The location was drifted quite deep in places, and there was lots of goofing off and trash talking about who was gonna end up in the snow drift, which only added to the freezing cold fun!
Brenda Keith
Brenda Keith is probably Fisher’s favorite real estate agent. She came to me for updated headshots, and we had some fun with some more casual photos as well.
