Jack 2018
It’s August, and that means that Senior Portrait Season is officially underway. I had the pleasure of kicking off this year’s season with Jack! Laid back with a wonderful smile and a surprise halfway thru the shoot!
Sneak Peek – Madelyn 2017
It was a valiant effort to get Maddie’s senior photos taken before the storm hit Wednesday night, but raindrops were hitting the windshield as we pulled into Allerton Park and the skies grew more threatening. It rapidly became apparent that her senior portrait shoot wasn’t going to happen that evening. Phone calls were made, schedules juggled and we were able to regroup and reschedule for the next day. The universe made it up to us with a day that is everything you could want for a senior shoot; beautiful weather, gorgeous senior and almost no one else in the park. As you can see, it was totally worth all of the effort for these beautiful senior portraits. I can hardly wait for her to see the rest…..
2015 Champaign Central Senior – Rachel
A beautiful girl without a single serious bone in her body! (although as you will see, she did manage to pull off a serious look) I feel like this sitting really, really reflected the things and people that are most important to her, from books to her BFF to her unicorn shirt.
Senior Pictures – Hannah
Hannah was unsure coming in for her senior portraits. She doesn’t like to have her picture taken. She isn’t really crazy about a lot of makeup either. I asked her to trust me. Half-way through her shoot she was rocking the posing and looking beautiful and seeing how amazing she is. When I look at these photos, I see an AWESOME senior!!! Hair and makeup by Sarah Kellems.
2012 Monticello Senior – Jesse
Jesse is from Monticello High School. Since it was so close, I just had to take her to Allerton Park for her senior portrait session! We found some great places to use as background, and Jesse was such a great model to work with! We were incredibly lucky that the weather cooled down and was just simply beautiful for her shoot! She had a special request that we do a few shots with her very best friends, so we have tacked on some BFF shots for you to see as well.
So, you’re thinking about Senior Portraits…
As you may have noticed, we do a few high school senior portraits here! As the end of summer looms, I start getting lots of calls wanting to know more about our senior portraits. So I am about to embark on a shameless plug for my studio and why you should bring your senior here!( ‘Cause its my blog and all!)
I am a one woman studio, I shoot on Monday and Wednesday in the late afternoon and early evening. I then schedule ordering sessions on Tuesday and Thursday. Yes, if you had your pictures done with me on Monday or Wednesday, I CAN have them ready the following day. You just have to tell me that is what you want to do! On days that I am not shooting or meeting with clients, I am shooting sports action for Fisher High School and area papers.
The ordering session is when you will see your images for the first time, projected bigger than life on our studio wall! I do expect you to place your order at this time, and half of the order total is required as a deposit with the balance due when everything is picked up! My LTPSENIOR Crew has coupon cards good for $$ off.
One very unique thing about my studio is that we don’t limit your poses. Often you will see packages that will say ” so many 5×7’s and 8x 10’s from 3 poses”. At Laura Trovillion Photography when we state” XX number of gift prints in a package,” every single one can be different.
This year we are offering custom wall prints framed, matted and framed, gallery wrapped canvas and on metal. If you haven’t seen these, you need to stop in and lay your eyes on these awesome options as well as our new wallet tins, and pursbooks!
Which brings me to our ever popular books. There are two book options: first is our Storybook. Its called a storybook, because it tells the WHOLE STORY of your senior shoot. It is a custom hardbound book, with layflat UV coated pages and unique layouts featuring multiple images per spread. Storybooks are available as an 8×8 or new 10 x 10 size. Can you say WOW? The second is our sessionbook – its a custom hardbound offset press book. The covers are custom designed and each page has one image in a fine art format. The session book is offered in the traditional 8×8 size and also our new 10 x 10 size.
I will contact you about a week before your senior portrait sitting to discuss what you want, what your parents want, where you want to go and how we are going to make this all happen. We make a plan. Plans are good. If we don’t have a plan before your sitting, we will end up spending a chunk of your sitting…making a plan. I am a pretty creative person and we have done some pretty wild things, but I have to have a starting point and an idea of what you want, and without those, we are just spitting into the wind….and that’s not fun for anybody!
As far as the sittings go, I am pretty much game for anything short of jumping out of a plane. I have shot all over Central Illinois and have found some really, really cool places to shoot. And I am constantly on the lookout for the next awesome idea/shooting venue!
And that my friends is my shameless plug for Laura Trovillion Photography Senior Portraits! We currently have a few openings still available in September, so give me a call at 217-239-1658. We will begin booking family sessions for holiday cards and gifts on October 3!
Stay tuned right here for my latest senior….Parker Perrero!
2012 Fisher Senior – Marissa
Marissa didn’t know it yet, but she’s definately an Anthropologie girl. Her concepts for her senior shoots and sense of style are anthro all the way. To capitalize on this, we needed a really cool location……and we found it at Allerton Park in Monticello. Beautiful vistas, incredible architecture and brickwork, reflecting pools and Fu Dog Gardens were all in one amazing location. We even saw deer! Marissa is an incredibly outgoing, bubbly kind of person, but she also has this very centered, calm, serious quality as well. She makes my job very easy, and I feel that we captured elements of both the fun side and the serious side of this 2012 senior. Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you think!
2011 Fisher Senior- Rachel
We took Rachel to beautiful Allerton Park for her senior photos. She had never been there before, but I just knew that we needed to go there and shoot her in her prom dress with the mansion as a backdrop, and the Foo Dog garden, and the maze, andthe awesome brick walls…..So many lovely places to shoot at Allerton! The sunset photos were shot at her grandparents pond and dock. I just love perfect sunsets!
