More Non-traditional Color by H2O Salon
Dashing into Urbana between snowstorms, I had the pleasure of photographing another beautiful Model with Non-traditional color to cover her grey! Edith Peacock, owner of H2O Salon has taken covering up the grey to a whole new level of fun. Anyone interested should contact her at 217-337-1480. Soft, messy updos at H2O Salon, Urbana IL
This years hair trends are softer, more casual and natural, even when they are updos. Here are two examples of beautiful soft messy updos from H2O salon located in downtown Urbana IL. Notice the incorporation of braiding as well as curls in the first series of photographs, and off-center swirls in the second series. A special thanks to these girls for allowing us to photograph their homecoming looks!
Fisher Senior girl in Urbana – Sydney
Sydney chose to explore the funky alleys and sidestreets of downtown Urbana, with a quick stop on Campus to get some awesome water and reflection shots as we lost light and the streetlights came on! Special thanks to Caitlin Cole for all of her help! Hair and makeup by Sarah Kellems.
Fisher Senior Girl – Macy
Macy has this wonderfully classic 40’s film star look about her. She is very into music, singing in the chorus and playing saxaphone in the band. Seeing her, you can almost imagine her standing next to a baby grand, singing the blues in some posh jazz club! Hair and makeup by Sarah Kellems

Glam the Gown – Taylor
Glam the Gown is such a fun photoshoot. All of the fun of dressing up in a gorgeous gown and having your hair and makeup done without the rush and the hassles. Taylor totally rocked this shoot to showcase one of her prom gowns from this last year. Gotta love a purple sparkly dress and mile-high pumps! Its the ultimate dress-up date for yourself! Wouldn’t everyone love more than just some snaps of themselves looking just freaking amazing?
2014 seniors in Millenium Park
I had the pleasure of taking these three beautiful Class of 2014 Seniors to Downtown Chicago’s Millenium Park this week for a Senior Portrait Mini-Session. It is so inspiring to go somewhere that you have never photographed before. It was a great adventure for all of us, and hopefully I will get the opportunity to go back for a full senior session later this year. Bridal Glam the Gown – JaNelle
This is JaNelle. When I announced that I was photographing Glam the Gown Portraits, she contacted me within seconds….”I have only one photo of me in my wedding dress, and everything else is blurry, scenery, or from the knees down. Can you make me beautiful?” Before leaving after her session, she told me that I had made her feel like a queen, and that every bride should feel that way. I think she is beautiful and I am happy that I made her feel beautiful too!
Glam the gown portraits – Caitlin
Proving that Glam the Gown Portraits aren’t just for brides. Caitlin wore this gorgeous dress to prom and wanted some amazing photos of herself in it. I think she totally rocked it! Contemporary Maternity – Amy and Matt
Life comes full circle. I first photographed Amy as a Fisher High School Senior. Then she met Matt and fell in love, so I photographed their beautiful engagement portraits. Last year we created gorgeous portraits of Amy with her Mom. And now I have the honor of photographing Matt and Amy anticipating their first child. Its things like this that make me so happy!
Boudoir….Glam with less clothes!
I am getting inquiries as to whether I shoot boudoir photographs. Yes, to me, boudoir is simply contemporary glamour portraits with less clothes, or at least very different clothes. Every photoshoot is about making women look and feel AMAZING. My hair and makeup stylists are the very best. I will direct you down to your eyebrows to insure that your posing shows off every asset and minimizes any negatives. And then I will sell you amazing photos so that you can always remember that you are an incredible woman! This is a sneak peek from a recent boudoir shoot. She came to me and said that she had always wanted to do something like this and with her 25th wedding anniversary coming up, she has a great reason! Transformations
We know a little bit about transforming women at Laura Trovillion Photography. This is what we do. The glamour photographs on my site aren’t models, they are real women. These are the same women that you see picking up their kids from school, stopping by the grocery, or in this particular case, enjoying spring break. Normally this process occurs over a couple of hours with 3 to 5 clothing changes, some tweaks to your hair and makeup and changing up the background and props. On April 20, 2013 we have raised the stakes – We are transforming one woman every thirty minutes for ten hours. Is 15 minutes total enough for hair and makeup? Can she be posed and photographed in 15? Will she look amazing? The answers are yes, yes and YES. Two weeks ago, we did a trial run and these are the results!

Glam Maternity – Sarah K
Sarah is one of my incredibly talented hair and makeup stylists, who just happens to be expecting her second daughter! When I had this idea for glam maternity shots, I think she realized I truly was crazy. But, I won her over and we did an absolutely amazing maternity photosession centered around feeling beautiful while expecting. Portrait of a Beautiful Woman (and her S.O.) – Lindsey and Faisal
Lindsey and Faisal came to me for some beautiful couple photos to hang in their home…….except Faisal did NOT want his picture taken. People need to understand that when they tell me how much they hate having their photo taken, I consider that a challenge. Fortunately for Faisal, I got some fantastic photos of both him alone and the two of them together right away, so we could turn him loose to go do his thing, and the girls could get down to some seriously fun photography!!!!! Lindsey had no qualms about having her photo taken, and the camera just loves her! She is so full of life and laughter and color and fun! Hair and Makeup by Stefani Smith!
The Friedman Family
The Friedman family took advantage of our complimentary family session that is given to all of our Laura Trovillion Photography seniors. The Friedman’s and I headed to Lake of the Woods in Mahomet on a gorgeous Friday evening. We proceeded to have a lot of fun and got a little crazy too!
Mother daughter portraits- Chris and Amy
Amy contacted me way back in April about doing a mother-daughter photo shoot with her mom for Mother’s day….except with Amy and her husband graduating college and moving, it couldn’t happen till last week! Chris was totally surprised, and Amy showed us her girly side. It was a wonderful shoot with these two women! Hair and makeup by Sarah Kellems.
The Williams Family
The Williams family took advantage of our complimentary senior family portrait session. We went to the Sangamon River Forest Preserve located south of Fisher. We got some great family photos and some goofy ones too! It was a beautiful evening for a photo shoot and an absolutely lovely family.
Who are you?- Kirsten
In a contemporary portrait, is it enough to just portray a beautiful woman? Or should the portrait convey who she is besides beautiful? This image of Kirsten was part of a concept shoot to illustrate who she is. Personally I think we nailed it. I would love to hear opinions from others who know her. If we were to photograph you, who would you be?
Mother/daughter portraits – Caitlin and Melinda
OMG!!!! Caitlin is a quiet, laidback, pretty 16 year old. Her mom Melinda decided to surprise her with a mother/daughter contemporary portrait shoot at our studio. And Caitlin came to life in front of my camera. She became this self confident, graceful, gorgeous modelesque person that had been lurking beneath that shy shell. And mom did pretty well too! Their images of them together are a real treat, as you can see just how much they look alike! The first image you will see here is what is referred to as a beauty shot. Its pretty much all about the face and not alot of people can pull this one off, but Caitlin totally rocked it. That shot says it all! Hair and makeup by the talented and wonderful Stefani Smith.
Contemporary portrait – Crystal
Crystal used her 25th wedding anniversary as a reason to indulge in a contemporary portrait session. She is an amazing woman with a unique sense of humor and we had a great time. I had several klutz moments, but we all survived, and there are some really wonderful images to show for it!

Last week I had the pleasure of photographing Paula and her daughter Jansyn as part of my series, Portraits of Women. This is my favorite of the images of them together. It speaks to me, reminds me of my mom, and makes me wish I had a similiar portrait for myself. Beautiful portraits are considered a luxury, but when the opportunity is gone, they become priceless.
