Super Sneak Peek – Gabe

2016 Fisher Senior Gabe, just wanted to get this over with quickly. Like a lot of senior guys, I am pretty sure he was getting senior photos just to make his mom happy. Two hours and 4 locations and clothing changes later, we took this last photo with his pride and joy. Turns out it wasn’t so bad after all! Stay tuned for tomorrow’s regular sneak peek for more awesomeness from Gabe’s senior sitting!

Varner Family Sneak Peek

Family Portraits on their farmAfter being rained out on Monday, we had a perfect evening yesterday for the Varner’s family portraits on their farm. Technically this isn’t the best photo from the shoot. It’s the one that makes me smile. You can’t look at those happy faces, and not want to smile. This is just one of those times where genuine smiles and laughter trump all.

I had the pleasure of taking these three beautiful Class of 2014 Seniors to Downtown Chicago’s Millenium Park this week for a Senior Portrait Mini-Session. It is so inspiring to go somewhere that you have never photographed before. It was a great adventure for all of us, and hopefully I will get the opportunity to go back for a full senior session later this year. Special thanks to Kathy Browning for driving, and helping to make this trip awesome!

Contemporary Maternity – Amy and Matt

Life comes full circle. I first photographed Amy as a Fisher High School Senior. Then she met Matt and fell in love, so I photographed their beautiful engagement portraits. Last year we created gorgeous portraits  of Amy with her Mom. And now I have the honor of photographing Matt and Amy anticipating their first child. Its things like this that make me so happy!

Class of 2014 Seniors – Rockin the Mini-shoot!

These Class of 2014 Seniors ROCK! It was cold, snowy, spring break and a Sunday afternoon….And they totally brought their A game! For most of these seniors, it was the first time in front of my camera. For everyone involved, its was the first time creating amazing senior images in 30 minutes.

These mini-shoots were a trial run for our Makeover Marathon in April. The girls arrived with straight hair and no makeup. In 15 minutes the amazing Hair and Makeup artists, Sarah Kellems, Tia Crom and Stefani Smith transformed these girls. Each girl then spent 15 minutes in front of my camera, where we achieved multiple images where they look like covergirls! The guys were spared the hair and makeup, but spent an intense 15 minutes in front of the camera as well. I am excited to be working with such a great group of seniors. They are all so beautiful!  Special thanks to Stefani, Sarah and Tia – you ladies are AMAZING!!!

2013 Fisher Senior – Brendan

Senior boys with trucks, cowboy hats and flaming bats…what more could a photographer want? I had a great time photographing Brendan’s senior portraits this week. We totally lucked out with nice weather, not warm enough to go without a coat, but at least we weren’t freezing to death, it is February after all! I wish him luck at SIU where he will be majoring in Civil Engineering!

Brazil meets Midwest – Eric

Eric is a foreign exchange student from Brazil, currently attending Fisher High School as a senior. We did his “senior” photos on a beautiful fall day in the two places most near and dear to him; the soccer field and the place he calls home in the US. He is rather quiet and very polite, but his smile is awesome and he was game for all of my crazy ideas! I had a blast and hope he did as well!

Glam Maternity – Sarah K

Sarah is one of my incredibly talented hair and makeup stylists, who just happens to be expecting her second daughter!  When I had this idea for glam maternity shots, I think she realized I truly was crazy. But, I won her over and we did an absolutely amazing maternity photosession centered around feeling beautiful while expecting. We also included her darling daughter and hubby for a few fun photos as well!! Sarah, thank you so much, I hope you love these!

Farm Family Portraits – The Hansens

The fun thing about photographing families in the midwest is that you get to use really really BIG tractors as props! It was a hot, hot afternoon, but the sky was gorgeous blue and the tractor was clean and ready to go! Creating really fun, unique family portraits is something that I really love doing and I think these are some of my best!

Mother daughter portraits- Chris and Amy

Amy contacted me way back in April about doing a mother-daughter photo shoot with her mom for Mother’s day….except with Amy and her husband graduating college and moving, it couldn’t happen till last week! Chris was totally surprised, and Amy showed us her girly side. It was a wonderful shoot with these two women! Hair and makeup by Sarah Kellems.

Who are you?- Kirsten

Portrait of a woman who loves children

In a contemporary portrait, is it enough to just portray a beautiful woman? Or should the portrait convey who she is besides beautiful? This image of Kirsten was part of a concept shoot to illustrate who she is. Personally I think we nailed it. I would love to hear opinions from others who know her. If we were to photograph you, who would you be?

Fisher Kid Pictures- Teagan is one

One is such a fun age to photograph, and Teagan was such a hoot! The weather didn’t co-operate, but we had lots of fun in the studio instead. Mom brought lots of her favorite things, among them her wagon and a giant zebra. Mom also brought cake, and as you will see, Teagan was into cake.( although she did share with mom!)

2012 Fisher Senior – Zach

One of Zach’s passions in life is fishing, so it came as no surprise that he wanted some shots on the water in a boat. We were fortunate to have a spectacular sunset as a backdrop for the last few images of the night. We hit lots of fun places all around Fisher, including a friend’s barn, a deserted corn crib, woods and a field with the tallest corn he had ever seen! We were so lucky to be able to get his shoot in before football season and school start!  I feel like we got lots of different images and looks for him! I cannot wait for him and his parents to see all of the other images waiting for them! Here are a few of my favorites!2012 senior in boat
